Why We Love It:
This version of Mother Goose offers plenty of rhythmical and/or rhyming verses so appealing to young children. As you continue to read this book, your infant will enjoy the colorful illustrations and begin to recognize their favorites. Eventually this may become part of their first language. An index of first lines makes it even easier to find just the poem you want. This is our go-to recommended gift for babies and young children. We also love that there are so many verses offered for so many of the poems. Of the many Mother Goose books available, this is our favorite.
At this stage, your infant will enjoy the rhythmic, rhyming words. Hold your baby close as you read and sharing the fun of language.
Gently rock or move your infant as you read. • Vary the pace and voice you use for different poems.
Sing the poem or make up a melody. Regardless of your musical ability, infants love to hear a loving voice.
